What Is Spirituality?
Expansion of consciousness and awareness is real spirituality. Getting rid of ego, arrogance, hatred, jealousy, and all negative energies, helps you go further. There are more fakes out there than they are real spirited beings. A real spiritual person takes care of their health, because they love themselves and don’t bow down to any fraud. Too many people waste their time seeking or following gurus, reading spiritual books, and hugging trees. There’s a difference between thinking about something and actually doing it. Living a spiritual life is more important than reading about it, watching movies, or listening to pundits. Someone who is really spiritual is always teaching you how too can develop yourself to the highest levels and they do not need nor wish to be worshipped.
Taking responsibility for your life is a part of it. People claim to be spiritual, but don’t do spiritual work and think that by sitting back doing nothing some savior or god will come to rescue everyone. No, self-ownership, responsibility, strength, courage, these are all part of evolution. Life is about becoming better in every way! Developing your character to the noble level! Learning how to believe in yourself even where everything goes wrong. Many common mistakes spiritual seekers make is they associate poverty with spirituality. This is a big mistake. Wealth is part of spirituality, because without it you don’t have time to focus on meditation and working on yourself. You’re always preoccupied with your job, worrying about money, and the connection with God diminishes. You see, wealth is today defined as money and luxurious. This is wrong, it’s so much more than that. Real wealth is the knowledge and wisdom which brings real intelligence, your connection with the universe (God), material abundance, and love in all forms - friends, family, relationships, self-love, etc. When you have this, you’re a free bird.
Jesus spent his days trying to help people help themselves. He never sought fame or praise and didn’t charge people to attend his seminars like priest do. Getting your desires is spirituality, not living in suppression. If you want financial freedom there’s nothing wrong with that, but people think struggling is part of spiritual living. Well, yeah if that’s what you choose, but there’re better easier ways. Appeasing others and giving love to everybody is another mistake. Let me explain. Yes, you can have well wishes for everybody and the planet, but if you’re face to face with a fanatical hateful person, you can’t share love with them. Best option is to leave and look for loving people. People think it’s wrong to abandon old friends, acquaintances, or even family in some cases. However, if such people are holding you back, then what good are they? If they give you nothing except bad energy, then they’re useless. This is confusing for most people who are innately good. Guilt and shame plagues their mind about ditching them, but let me make it perfectly clear to you. Not only is it in your best interest to leave, it is the spiritual thing to do! Think about, if you keep clinging on to your old friends that smoke pot and drink all day, or you try to help your alcoholic father for years and he refuses your help, guess what? Screw them! That’s right, you read correctly. I would say another word that rhymes with duck, but you get the idea. You need to take care of yourself first. You are number one, not them. Think about it, you can only help someone when you can help yourself. If you’re in a position where you can’t help others, help yourself, don’t worry about others. It’s not your problem to begin with. Everyone is responsible for their life not you! Don’t seek justice for all, it can get you killed. If you offer help to someone and they refuse and you can’t or don’t know what else to do, leave! Move on! Why are you burdening yourself unnecessarily? Stay away from negative people. I don’t recall Jesus or Buddha spending their time with the politicians of their time, do you? Spiritual masters taught those who were open to learning, not those who criticize and only spread hate. Fill yourself with love, and concentrate on actually living spirituality. When you act with love, you are on the right path. Hope the energy in the article helps you gain a better understanding.
