Positive Thinking Propaganda
A cult has formed in the world persuading you to solely think positive. Other refer to them as the thought police. They come in all forms - gurus, so called spiritual people, business men, etc. As you can see they’re undercover. They claim you should only think good all the time, but please for a moment let’s examine this nonsense, I mean statement. If you always think everything is positive, then you’re out of balance. You’re living in denial. If a train is coming your way and you think it’s negative to acknowledge that, you’re seriously confused. If you’re not happy with your life, you need necessary negative thinking to get you motivated to do something about it! But if you think positive, you’re turning yourself into a drone. Oh, I don’t want a new car, I like driving my old crappy car that my parents let me borrow day to day. I don’t want new clothes; I’m happy and thankful for my ragged shirt that doesn’t even fit. I don’t want a relationship or sex, I’m happy living like a swami. Yeah, sometimes I slip and look at magazines, but I’m still learning! I don’t want at giant house, I love and appreciate my dirty bug infested apartment with whom I share with my drunken stupid roommates. I don’t want a better job, I like doing slave labor for eight bucks an hour. Besides, if I leave all of my co-workers would miss me! I wouldn’t want to do that would I? That’s not the right spiritual thing to do…is it?
Hey, buddy, let me tell you something, your life sucks! Your life is absolutely pathetic. You live a pitiful sad existence. Can you understand that? Are you able to grasp and accept this? If you can, then you would work your tail off to improve your situation. See my point? And this nonsense that having negative thoughts makes you a bad person is hogwash. Again, I repeat, there’s a distinct difference between thinking about robbing a bank and actually robbing a bank! Get it? How many of you have thought about doing something bad at some point in your life? Have you done it? There you go. So in conclusion, real spirituality is about bettering yourself in every way and becoming something higher not something lower. Depriving yourself or living with restriction is nothing more than a life of suffering and disappointment. Don’t fall for this trap. Rise above it and become great. Become the person you want to be and don’t let anybody or anything prevent you from realizing your goal.
What is needed is having a positive attitude. Self-esteem and confidence is important. For example, if you get a flat tire, don’t whine about it all day. Try to see the bigger picture. Realize it’s not the end of the world, life will go on. Another example is if you have to be somewhere and your plane takes you to the wrong place, having the right attitude is acknowledging what happened and seeing possibilities. Ok, they made a mistake, but there’s another flight leaving shortly to where I want to go. Since it’s their fault, I can just catch another flight and everything will be fine. Or if you go bankrupt, lose your house, lose everything, and lose your spouse, even though you’re angry, even though you’re depressed and humiliated, deep down you say I’m going to get out of this mess. I’m going to succeed; I’m going to come out on top of all this. All of those examples have happened by the way. So the key is believing in yourself and being confident as opposed to mindlessly thinking positive when deep down you feel terrible and you know it. Don’t kid yourself. Be honest and deal with life as it is, not pretending to live in a fantasy land.
